What is iron silicate?
Iron silicate is purposefully produced during the refining and recycling processes of copper. It is an industrially produced mineral, comparable to natural rocks from quarries, but without the disadvantage of having to intervene massively in nature. Iron silicate is used in various applications, especially in the construction industry, as a substitute for primary building materials.
Advantages of iron silicate
- high specific gravity and high bulk density
- Perfect spatial stability
- Optimal surface roughness
- Very durable
- Very low water absorption
- High strength
- Dense pore structure
- Very good frost resistanceCubic grain shape
- High resistance to weathering
- No linear deformation
In special cooling processes, iron silicate stone and iron silicate granules are formed after the molten phase.

Iron silicate stone
Slow cooling in large cast iron pots produces a high-quality, crystalline rock with edge lengths of up to 1,000 mm. The iron-silicate stone is further processed in a crushing and screening plant to commercial grain sizes and weight classes.
